INTERNATIONAL RETAIL - OUR BRAND AMBASSADORS AROUND THE WORLD

The goal of international retail is not only to inspire customers around the world with MARC O'POLO, but also to subtly adapt the brand to the needs and customs of a country. It's a multifaceted job that requires openness, passion, commitment and leadership qualities, and it offers a wide range of career opportunities. Ania and Nada talk about their experiences working in international retail.

NADA MILOVANOVIC LUN | STORE MANAGER PARIS - MARAIS

My development at Marc O'Polo.

As a long-time Marc O'Polo fan, I relished my role as a brand ambassador from the very beginning. Back then, I was working as a Sales Assistant at the Galleries Lafayette flagship store in Paris. The company’s values were immediately familiar to me, and I always had a lot of fun with the customers. As a top employee in France, I was then allowed to take part in a further training course for management and executives, and I was subsequently offered the role of deputy Store Manager in Galleries Lafayette and eventually Store Manager in Levallois. I now manage the Paris flagship store with passion and drive—inspiring new customers and team members with my enthusiasm for Marc O'Polo and further developing the brand.

My greatest success at Marc O'Polo.

My tasks have helped me improve personally as well as professionally. After all, they go hand in hand. My greatest success so far was being appointed as Retail Manager for the Paris flagship store. I am incredibly grateful for this trust and, of course, I want to prove that this decision was absolutely the right one.

Why you should start in international retail at Marc O'Polo.

To all those who wish are interested in International Retail with Marc O'Polo, I can only say that no matter how much you give, Marc O'Polo gives you even more! I have felt like I was part of a big family from the very beginning, and I am constantly dialoguing with my international colleagues. Our motto is: "Work hard - play hard" and we live up to it. I have so many fond memories of the Store Manager Meetings that the company organises every year, and I am wholeheartedly happy to be a part of Marc O'Polo.

ANNA MANAKOVA | INTERNAL TRAINER - PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT

My start at Marc O'Polo.

I can still remember my job interview from ten years ago. I had originally applied to be a Sales Assistant. Instead, I was offered the position of Assistant Store Manager at the flagship store in Warsaw. Shortly afterwards, I was promoted to Store Manager and given the authority to train the teams in the shops. This was, of course, a great start to my career. Four years ago, the company recognised my potential as a mentor and offered me the position of Retail Sales Trainer. Since then, I’ve been responsible for training in more than 50 shops in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Romania, Belgium, France, Poland, the Netherlands, Russia and Italy.

How I feel about Marc O'Polo as an employer.

I think Marc O'Polo, with its open and innovative mind-set, is the perfect company to help me keep developing. From the freedom to make my own decisions, the motivation to achieve my goals, the competence to lead a team, and my self-assurance, I have definitely become wiser and happier here, and more self-confident and mature.

What I enjoy about working at Marc O'Polo.

The satisfaction of my customers is my greatest success; when visitors come not just because of our great clothing, but also because of the kind and competent staff. But of course, it is also a constant challenge. After all, you must meet client expectations while also being accountable for the physical and emotional well-being of the staff. Currently, I am relieved that the trainings can finally resume on-site. I love travelling to different countries, discovering new cultures and meeting interesting people. And my personal highlight: several years ago I hired a saleswoman who has since become a Store Manager, my best friend and my maid of honour.
