Stephanskirchen, 10. March 2021. Marc O’Polo is pushing ahead with its internationalisation plans, with a focus on Eastern Europe: After the Czech Republic and Romania, the brand is now significantly expanding its infrastructure in Russia with the intent to expand the business in Russia & CIS by establishing their own subsidiary.
MARC O’POLO and Jamilco the current distribution partner, have mutually agreed on the transfer of all activities related to the brand, after a fruitful 10 years’ collaboration. Following the agreement, all monobrand stores as well as the E-Commerce platform, will be transferred to MARC O’POLO. Jamilco and Marc O Polo will work together for a smooth, seamless business transfer to ensure the Marc O Polo clients in Russia continue to be served without any issues.
“With around 145 million inhabitants and the international metropolises of Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia is a very important market for us in which to present our brand internationally and generate additional growth. We would like to thank Jamilco for the commitment and the strong foundation created for our further development," says Maximilian Böck, CRO/Co CEO of MARC O’POLO AG.
“It was a great and exciting experience to work with a brand with such a fascinating and strong Scandinavian DNA. We wish Marc O’Polo the very best for their further expansion in Russia and CIS”, said Kira Balashove, General Director of Jamilco.
MARC O’POLO is also planning further expansion of its wholesale and franchise business for the MARC O’POLO Casual and MARC O’POLO DENIM collections throughout Russia. Currently, the two MARC O’POLO collections are distributed in Russia via Stockmann department stores as well as via the leading Russian online platforms, Wildberries and La Moda.
MARC O’POLO was founded in Stockholm in 1967.
