Garden of Sweden

For spring/summer 2023, Marc O’Polo focuses on naturalness, a timeless summer feeling and traditional handmade character, translated into the present. Sustainability continues to play a central role. A modern homage to Marc O’Polo’s heritage and brand essence.

“WELCOME TO THE GARDEN OF SWEDEN. A PLACE WHERE ANYTHING GOES AND EVERYTHING GROWS. WHERE NO BOUNDARIES ARE SET, NO LIMITS ARE MET. A FLOURISHING PLACE, A NOURISHING SPACE, AND THE PERFECT ENVIRONMENT TO JUST FOLLOW YOUR NATURE”

Welcome to the „Garden of Sweden“— a metaphor for Marc O’Polo’s typical closeness to nature, a sense of new freedom and the brand’s Swedish roots. The Spring/Summer 2023 collection combines all this and focuses on natural materials with a special Artisanal look and feel. Open structures, subtle irregularities and a natural look. Among them fabrics inspired by the first handmade shirts from Marc O’Polo, with a special handmade character like sustainable summer fabrics from the traditional Italian company Manteco, inspired by handwoven Indian Charka fabrics. Manteco’s Charka® Fabrics have a handmade aesthetic and are made from certified cotton.

WOMENSWEAR

With colors reminiscent of the sea, March awakens the first summer vibes. Sea Blue, Vivid Green and natural sand tones create fresh contrasts. Highlights are the readyto-wear styles—oversize blazer with matching suit shorts—and the short blouson with irregular stripe pattern in Manteco Charka® Fabrics. Also light and airy: the wide cape-style shirt with side slits in a tonal look with matching wideleg pants. And the early summer blazer in summery organic cotton poplin.

MENSWEAR

The menswear collection impresses with new workwear elements. Warmer colors like rich corn yellow and stripped brown turn the clock to summer. Together with dark brown and denim blue, they create retro vibes that are picked up via modern designs: lightweight summer blousons made of organic cotton and modern suit combos with wide shorts. Also particularly in focus here: artisanal fabrics—fabrics with a distinctive handcrafted look, moving surfaces and an extreme amount of character.

Highlights: Overshirts with summery stripes and a worker jacket with changing weave structures made of Manteco Charka® Fabrics. Stripe combinations and the revival of the lino print with summery motifs from nature—such as the sunflower—round off the early summer collection.

The Spring/Summer 2023 looks were photographed by Misha Taylor on location in a summer garden atmosphere. The cast captivates with diversity and naturalness. Personalities that correspond to the natural and characteristic Marc O’Polo spirit. Axel Hermann, Ludwig Wilsdorff, Maika Inga and Yiang Massenguiral.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS

92% of the current Marc O‘Polo collection is sustainable. These figures refer to the production volume of the Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Marc O‘Polo describes and labels products as sustainable if at least 80% of the essential components (outer material, filling material and lining) in the apparel sector, the essential components (outer material, filling material) in the home textiles sector, at least one of the essential components (upper material, lining, sole) in the footwear sector and the essential components (main material and lining) in the accessories sector (bags, small leather goods) are made of sustainable materials. An overview of these Sustainable Materials can be found here.
