“More than ever, it is important for us to live up to our social responsibility throughout the supply chain. The Fair Wear rating is the most important yardstick we have for seeing better where we are already doing well and where we still need to improve with regard to working conditions in the production countries," says Maximilian Böck CEO of Marc O'Polo SE. "We are particularly proud that we were able not only to maintain last year's rating, but to improve on it."
Mariette van Amstel, Head of Membership at Fair Wear Foundation, states: „Marc O’Polo has significantly expanded their human rights due diligence processes since they joined in 2020. They have shown a clear understanding of responsible purchasing practices and taken big steps towards transparency, now disclosing 93% of their suppliers on the Fair Wear website.”
As part of the Brand Performance Check, Fair Wear reviews and evaluates a brand’s progress in protecting human rights across its supply chain. The organization assesses to what extent members' internal management systems support the implementation of the Code of Labour Practices across their supply chains, including their purchasing practices and monitoring systems.
The full report is published on the Fair Wear website as well as on Marc O'Polo's corporate website. Fair Wear is a globally active, independent multi-stakeholder initiative that works with over 130 members to improve working conditions in textile factories in Asia, Europe, and Africa.
