Sustainable Materials.

An important task in the area of sustainability is to keep the environmental impacts in the supply chain as low as possible through the material selection. The use of natural materials is part of the brand core of MARC O’POLO.

MARC O’POLO Modern Organic Product

Our organic products consist of fibers sourced from certified ecological farming. Their production adheres to internationally recognized directives for organic farming. Examples include EC regulations 834/2007 and 889/2008 (EU) und USDA NOP (USA).

Rules for the cultivation and harvesting of natural fibers include the following:

  • Use of crop rotation
  • Biological methods of pest control
  • No use of synthetic fertilizers
  • No use of genetically modified seed
  • No use of defoliants during harvesting

For its Modern Organic Products, MARC O’POLO sources yarn from suppliers who have been certified in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) or the Organic Content Standard (OCS).

Recycled material

The use of recycled fibers saves natural resources and reduces the use of chemical substances, which is why MARC O’POLO increasingly uses recycled cotton-polyester and wool fibers.

For the outdoor collection of MARC O’POLO and MARC O’POLO JUNIOR, we use a polyester padding made with recycled PET bottles. The products can be identified by an according hangtag:

THERMORE® ECODOWN® made of 100 % recycled material
THERMORE® CLASSIC made of 50 % recycled material
THERMOSOFT® made of 50 % recycled material
