Innsbruck.

Innsbruck is situated at the foot of the so-called North Chain of the Karwendel Alps. It is both a welcoming destination with a variety of offerings and a nice stopover on the way to Italy.

This map visualizes the location and environs of the Austrian town of Innsbruck. In what follows, you will discover the personal recommendations of MARC O’POLO Trainees. Via the icons you can obtain further information about activities in the city and its surroundings. Find out what our trainees enjoy most about the area.

Tyrolean capital

Innsbruck is located 115 km southwest of MARC O’POLO’s headquarters in Stephanskirchen. With 127,000 inhabitants, this idyllic town in the heart of the Tyrol may not be a world metropolis, but it fully represents Austrian serenity, openness and hospitality.

Situated in Inntal, surrounded by both the so-called North Chain of the Karwendel Alps and by the city’s landmark mountain, Patscherkofel (Tuxer Alpen), Innsbruck is a special destination for mountain lovers as well as culture lovers in search of historic buildings. Given its 30,000 students of Leopold-Franzens-Universität and the various technical colleges and academies here, young people are a big part of the city’s atmosphere, especially at night. In the Old Town, all generations come together to enjoy Austrian specialties in rustic pubs and experience the zeitgeist in stylish bars.

Accessible via plane, car, bus or train Innsbruck is always awaiting its next visitors, even if only as a stopover on the way to Italy’s Lago di Garda!
